What part would you change in the story, and why?
I personally would not change anything. A couple of book club members stated they did not like a few of the open ending stories. I personally loved them. It makes for an enjoyable read when authors allow readers to use their own imagination to finish the story. What did you think of the story structure with the past revealed in short chunks?
The author revealed tidbits of past stories throughout the book. These tidbits helped to round out a well written book that keeps readers guessing. It showed readers there is more to life than just our own problems.Describe what is happening in the first illustration in the book.
Eli keeps having dreams about children chasing him. He works at a diner and changes shifts because he sleeps a little better during the day.
Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author.
